I just discovered Pamela WATSON's website, Yare Family. While I do not yet know the blood relationship between Pamela and myself, I will see what more I can discover.
Pamela's birth was registered at Middlesborough in 1941 Q4, her parents being Leslie YARE and Elsie GRANVILLE. Leslie YARE married Elsie GRANVILLE at Middlesborough in 1934 Q1.
Leslie Yare was born at Middlesborough in 1907 Q2. He appears there in the 1911 census with his parents, John (41) and Jane (36) YARE, who had been married 9 years. John was born at Bows, Yorkshire.
John YARE married Jane HUMPHERY at Lanchester, Durham, in 1902 Q4.

John William YARE was born at Guisborough, Yorkshire, in 1871 Q4. In the 1881 census, he is 9. His parents were John Elliot and Elizabeth YARE, both born at Brough in about 1826 and 1828.
John Elliot YARE is in my family tree. He is descended from Joseph YARE (c1755).
This makes Pamela my 5th cousin.

BUT John William YARE died in 1900, so the above is WRONG.

John YARE was born at Stockton in 1875 Q1. In 1881 his parents are John and Agnes, both born in Westmorland.in c1839 and c1837. 1891 is more specific, his father was born at Kirkby Thore. 1901 is similar. By 1911 Agnes has died, but John is still in Middlesborough. But now he is lying about his age.
John YARE married Agnes SMITH at East Ward, Westmorland, in 1861 Q2.
In 1851 John YARE is probably staying with his sister, Mary Thompson, at Brough, but there are two other candidates.
If so:
Joseph (c1755) - Elizabeth (c1795) - John (c1839) - John (1875) - Leslie (1907) - Pamela (1941)
Joseph (c1755) - John (c1792) - William (1831) - Robert (1868) - William Thomas (1897) - Robert (1922) - Brian (1948)
This would make us 5th cousins once removed.
