My previous notes quote an entry in Pallot's Marriage Index, 1798, in Brough w Stainmore for a marriage of Jas FAWCET and Ann YARE.
As this is close to where Ann's parents were living in 1795 at the birth of their youngest child, it seems to be a good fit for Ann's marriage.
Turning to the 1841 census, there are at least two possible families to consider:
- At Market Brough, Westmorland, we have Jas FAWCETT (65), Ann FAWCETT (61), John NANSON (41) and Mary NANSON (34). Mary is probably a married daughter of Jas and Ann
- At Swinston, Barningham, Scargill, Teesdale, Yorkshire we have James FAWCET (69), Ann FORCET (64) and Ead FAWCET (21). Ead could be a son or grandson.
Hannah FAWCETT (7) is then found in the 1841 census, at Market Brough, with Thomas FAWCETT (36), Elizath FAWCETT (35), James FAWCETT (5), all born in Westmorland, and Ann FAWCETT (2 months) who was born in a different county.. They are on the same census page as Jas and Ann!
According to FindMyPast, Hannah FAWCETT married at East Ward, Westmorland in 1855 Q4. Unfortunately her husband is not indexed, as the other couple on the page are Henry HEWITSON and Isabella BOLT who are found together at East Ward in the 1861 census. But, checking on FreeBMD we find that there was a transcription error on FindMyPast.
Hannah FAWCETT married Michael HARKER at East Ward, Westmorland in 1855 Q4. This is confirmed by the 1861 census.
In 1861, Thomas FAWCETT is boarding with Michael and Hannah FAWCETT.
